Despite the tragic influence of EHD that hammered portions of southern Michigan, our state outputted some true monsters this year. I have recently interviewed two hunters this year that shot 190" TYPICALS! One of these was taken by Andy Borders and is in the current issue of Michian Outdoor News. I have also been told that the upcoming (January) issue of Woods-N-Water News will have five Michigan Monsters on the cover including Will Finkler's 190" Typical and Keith Mann's massive buck from Van Buren County.
Once again the Q1 Buck Pole and Custom Connection Motorsports will be giving away a Yamaha Grizzly 350 ATV 4x4 in camo to some lucky hunter in a RANDOM DRAWING that has entered their Buck or Doe in the Q1 Buck Pole contest. What is EHD and what effects is it having on Michigan's deer herd? I had a chance to interview Tom Cooley a Wildlife Biologist at the MSU Disease Control Lab about the effects the diesease has on deer. We disected a deer on camera, which is featured on Episode #1 of the 2012 Q1 Buck Pole TV show. The TV show is now available online.
What a great turnout and party at the Eagles in Coldwater on the 26th. We met a lot of successful hunters who showcased some BIG racks. Special thanks to Greenstone Farm Credit Services, Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts Stores, and Hungry Howies Pizza for the delicious food. I look forward to seeing everyone at the Soaring Eagle March 3rd. Bring your racks to share with everyone. Tim

The current issue of Woods-N-Water News has Q1 Buck Pole participant Linc Lafountain on the cover with his B&C 9-pt. that Linc shot in Oakland County. Congratulations Linc!
Also included in this issue is the disappointing story about CBM disqualifying a previous state record buck after it was discovered that the entry had actually been shot at a high fence game ranch. This individual also had all of his other entries removed including a state record turkey.
