I am receiving some awesome pictures of Big Bucks from hunters across southern Michigan. Last years top ten finalist Jim Strader, is once again excited about some of the trophy bucks posing for his Big Creek Co-op members. If one of the members connect with one of these top end trophies then their Co-Op may produce another top entry for their region or even the state.
On May 16, 2010 at 4:20 PM I got my Tom Turkey using the Scout / Glass / Spot-in-Stalk / Aggressively Call (including gobbles) / Shotgun go Boom Method. I used a turkey choke and anchored him to a plowed field with 5 shot at 40 yards.
My brother Jeff got a Tom during the first season using his Judge handgun loaded with a 4/10 shell at 10 yards.
How have you done?

A 26-point buck was found dead in Lenawee County that has an incredible gross green score of 257" The deer was found by Sharon Weidmayer while she was taking her dog "Camy" for a walk on Feb. 7, 2010. The green net score is 247 4/8. If this holds up it will beat the current record that is held by Paul Mickey with a buck that he took with a firearm in 1976. The Mickey buck scores 238 2/8 NT, B&C Points. The full story is in the April issue of Woods-N-Water News.
Joanathan Cermak, a lifetime resident of Kalamazoo County shot his first deer in 12 years and his first since a drunk driver severly altered his life. You can read the full story on the mossy oak web site, wwwmossyoak.com. The story (Beyond The Hunt) is listed in their Perspective section.
